Nominee to Hold Chinese Companies on U.S. Exchanges Accountable

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Senator Rick Scott sent a letter to President Trump’s nominee to lead the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Paul Atkins, thanking him and President Trump for their commitment to protecting the integrity of American markets and investors. Senator Scott asks that Mr. Atkins take immediate action, u
pon confirmation as Chairman, to address the serious and ongoing concerns surrounding Chinese companies operating on U.S. Exchanges. These companies have consistently failed to comply with U.S. law, and Senator Scott has been sounding the alarm for years to prior SEC Chairman Gensler on the risks these companies pose to the integrity of our exchanges and American investors, which the former Chairman failed to address.
