The New York Times, which first reported plans for the meeting, said Musk would receive a “top-secret” briefing that would include plans on how the United States would fight China in a war.
Hegseth denied the report late Thursday, saying on social media that the meeting is “about innovation, efficiencies & smarter production.”
President Donald Trump, who will deliver remarks with Hegseth on Friday morning in the Oval Office, also posted on social media late Thursday, denying the reporting and saying that “China will not even be mentioned or discussed.”
