Can I use my HSA to pay for health insurance premiums?

 

Generally, HSAs cannot be used to pay private health insurance premiums, but there are some exceptions, such as paying for health care coverage purchased through an employer-sponsored plan under COBRA, paying premiums while receiving unemployment compensation, and any insurance premiums for which you do not receive a 

 

You can even use your HSA to pay for some Medicare expenses including your Medicare Part B, Part D and Medicare Advantage plan premiums, deductibles, copays and coinsurance.
