薛定諤的貓的思想實驗被誤傳了,流行版本恰好是原意的反麵 .

昨天跟的帖,後來覺得離題才刪了的:

Schrödinger's intended argument: since a cat can not be both alive and dead, therefore the "Copenhagen interpretation" of quantum mechanics is false.

The popular version: since the Copenhagen interpretation is correct, therefore a cat can be both alive and dead.

The so-called Copenhagen interpretation holds that a physical system is governed by a "wave function" (roughly speaking, possible values distributed like waves spreading out, that is, without a specific value), only when one makes a measurement, the wave function takes on a specific value (so called the "collapse" of the wave function).

The interpretation of quantum mechanics is still in debate today, but the popular version above is clearly wrong though Schrödinger's intended argument may not be right either.

Basic fact: a cat can not be both alive and dead the same time.
