Sigh...A friend asked a question all his life: Why China has

ended up like it has.

I think I saw the answer a number of years back: Karma. Though it takes a lot to reveal its significances here, I think I can summerize it in one word: mediocrity (ping2 yong1). After Tang dynasty the Chinese people slipped into spiritual mediocrity. . Some are cultural, mutated or just surfaced over time. Some are just natural, any peoples old enough would experience it. 

Communism and Chritianity are the same thing. Removing God from Christianity, you get Communism. That they both claim China as their playground is a sign how spiritually weak China is nowadays. It is very saddening. The communists and the Christians being particularly harsh with each other is somewhat similar to Muslams and Christians being particularly harsh with each other -- They in fact share the same origin.

However, this doesn't mean the Chinese race is no longer capable of producing souls that are weighty enough.  Once we have a true genius, he transcends those in the more fashionable culture- the west. And there is at least one, it is just not easy to have such a soul in this time rightly appreciated.
