一棵開花的樹                  （一樹花開）

如何讓你遇見我               （何期逢君）

在我最美麗的時刻           （於吾至妍）

 

為這                                 （為達此願）

我已在佛前求了五百年    （吾祈佛前，逾五百載）

求佛讓我們結一段塵緣    （求佛結緣）

佛於是把我化做一棵樹    （佛感吾誠，化我為樹）

長在你必經的路旁           （植於君途）

 

陽光下                              （春陽燦燦）

慎重地開滿了花                （一樹花開）

朵朵都是我前世的盼望     （朵朵期盼）

 

當你走近                           （值君近前）

請你細聽                           （冀能聆聽）

那顫抖的葉                       （樹葉婆娑）

是我等待的熱情                （乃我炙情）

 

而當你終於無視地走過     （無睹而去）

在你身後落了一地的         （花隨影落）

朋友啊                               （汝可知否？）

那不是花瓣                       （片片落花）

那是我凋零的心                （凋零我心）

A Blooming Tree

 

What could make thou meet me

At the prime of my beauty

For this I’ve been praying before the Buddha

For five centuries

May this worldly affinity be true

 

So the Buddha turned me into a tree

Growing in the path of thy way

Carefully, fully blooming the tree

And in the sun

Every flower is my earnest prayer of yesterday

 

When thou art stepping closely

Please listen respectfully

That trembling foliage is the zeal of my waiting

At length thou art passing by without hearing

Oh, my love

They are not petals

But all my withering heart

Paving the earth
