溫柔的秘密深居我靈魂，

孤獨且永遠失去了光明，

麵對你心潮澎湃而保存，

宛如從前顫抖變成無聲。

 

有一墳墓的燈在其中央

永遠慢慢燃燒？ 但看不見;

此非絕望的黑暗可阻擋，

雖然它的光芒從來不顯。

Deep in my soul that tender secret dwells，
Lonely and lost to light for evermore，
Save when to thine my heart responsive swells，
Then trembles into silence as before.

There，in its centre，a sepulchral lamp
Burns the slow flame，eternal ? but unseen;
Which not the darkness of Despair can damp，
Though vain its ray as it had never been.
