Drinking Alone under the Moon,
by Li Bai
Among the flowers a jar of wine to be,
Drinking by myself and no one dear with me.
I raise my cup to invite the bright moon,
Face my shadow to have total of three.
Yet the moon does not understand drinking,
And the shadow follows my body in vain.
Accompany the moon with my shadow temporarily,
To enjoy greater pleasures I must wait till spring.
I sing and the moon are wandering around
I dance with my shadow messing up on the ground.
When I'm awake together we make pleasures,
After getting drunk, we depart and are scattered around.
Making a forever oath to a journey of a not-broken heart,
Expecting to see each other from the Milky Way apart.
