In fact, most people in the US are math idiots. People working in the bank are no exceptions. Most Americans don't have the faintest idea of how the loan payments are calculated. This also happens to be one of the reasons why so many of them got into trouble with the mortgage and credit card debts. They simply couldn't figure out how much their debts would cost them.
