Suggest: reading the novel also, which should be more attractive ... I didn't watch the whole movie, just the preview, and the heroin seems not the one in my mind from the novel ...; however, the hero seems more in tune with the image in my mind from the book.
The first impression of me to the novel is that there is no redundant plot, secondly, the author (Nocholas sparks) is very good at capturing and describing internal feelings, look at the description of the jealousy of John, which reveals his initiating love without his knowing it:
"...
I trotted down to the sand and froze when I saw her seated near
the dune, next to Randy, Brad, and Susan. She hadn’t noticed me,
and I heard her laugh at something Randy said. She and Randy
looked as much a couple as Susan and Brad. I knew they weren’t,
that they were probably just talking about the house they were
building or sharing experiences from the last couple of days, but I
didn’t like it. Nor did I like the fact that Savannah was sitting as
close to Randy as she’d been to me.
...
.. but she smiled when she saw me as if nothing were amiss.
