請翻譯駕駛手冊裏的一句話。謝謝！

“On passenger vehicles, a load may not extend beyond the line of the tandem.”

這句話在阿拉巴馬的駕駛手冊裏。問了幾個美國同事，沒人明白“the line of the tandem”是什麽意思。
