我嚐試回答一下這個問題。首先，這首歌隻是借用《聖經》裏的故事，有濃鬱的bibilical atmosphere的通俗歌曲，但絕對不是hymn。

David，這個以前提過，是猶太人曆史上也是人類曆史上一位非常著名的君王，並深受神的喜愛。他形象俊美，很多文藝複興時期的雕塑都是以他為原型，如著名的《大衛像》。大衛王不僅能征善戰，而且精通韻律，並彈得一手好琴，同時也是一個偉大的詩人。

所以這裏的“secret chord”就比較好理解了，一是大衛王所彈的琴聲，二是他內心對Lord的感情。

Hallelujah, 哈利路亞，從古希伯來文翻譯過來就是“感謝讚美主”的意思。

這段歌詞是借用了《聖經》裏非常著名的大衛王和烏利亞的妻子拔士巴的故事。《聖經》原文摘抄如下：

One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, and David send someone to find out about her. The man said, "Isn't this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittie?" Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him, and he slept with her...... (Samuel 11: 2 - 4 撒母耳記 11： 2－4)
