You are definitely right.

Those foreigners are so spoiled. When they come to China, a totally strange land for them, they don’t even have to worry about the language problem at all. Numerous Chinese students and office workers are eager to brush up their English by helping “those so called foreign friends” (國際友人) find their way around and make them feel more than comfortable than they do at home.

This is also easy to understand. If one day, China becomes more advanced than the US, the way will be around. A lot of Vietnamese can speak Chinese. How many Chinese can speak Vietnamese?

I used to have roommate who was from Vietnam. They sure are good copycats, copying everything from China, popular songs, TV hits, food, etc. Have you ever seen Huan Zhou Ge Ge in Vietnamese version? I saw, pretty funny. Do you see any Chinese even try to know Vietnam, let alone their language?
