Generally speaking most of countries don't have THE in in front of their names, but there are always exceptions.

These following countries that consist of more than one part using THE, checking out the S, AND

the UK - the united kingdom of great britain AND northern ireland

the USA - the united stateS of America

The Philippines - the PhilippineS
