Wild fire from faraway,
burns in your amber eyes

Your soft waist is constrained
by silver ornaments of ancient tribes

Unable to predict future happiness
yet young girls’ dreams, drifting like dandelion,
slowly landed on the sea
alas, waves breaking and foaming, on and on

Unwilling to reveal sorrows
by no means the sorrows were gone, ever

When Dongxiao and Pipa, played in twilight,
arousing tremendous sadness,
You gently nibble the corner of your headscarf

Gracefully standing between sea and sky
It’s unnoticed:
the saline-sands and rocks
that your bare feet have stepped on

Therefore, on cover pages and illustrations
you were transformed into scenery, and legend.
