使人迷惑的易混淆單詞

dessert and desert
Dessert是一種甜點，而the desert是又熱，又幹還到處是沙。

accept and except
accept意思是接受或是同意某事物，而except意思是排除。

there and their
前一個單詞是地點副詞而後者是物主代詞。例如Their house is over there.

principle and principal
Principles是信條，價值觀或是基本原則，而principal意思是學校的校長，或是主要的事物。

advice and advise
前一個單詞是個名詞而後一個是動詞，因此你可以advise someone by giving them good advice.

borrow and lend
To borrow意思是借貸某物，而to lend意思是借出某物。例如Can I borrow your car? Sorry, I can't lend it to you today.

despite and although
這些單詞有相近的意思但是用法不同。Despite是介詞而although是連詞。例如 He won the race despite his injury. He won the race although he had an injury.

affect and effect
前一個單詞是動詞而後一個是名詞，例如The effect of the war is enormous; it has affected all sectors of the economy.

personal and personnel
你的personal詳細信息包括你的名字，年齡和國籍，而 personnel意思是公司的職員。

assure and ensure
To assure某人意思是打消他們的疑惑或使他們安心，而ensure意思是確保某事發生。例如I assured him that you would be there, so please ensure that you get to the meeting on time.
