"May Two-Four" is a popular Canadian slang term for the Victoria Day long weekend, which occurs annually on the Monday preceding May 25th. The name is a double entendre that refers both to the date around which the holiday falls (May 24) and the Canadian slang for a case of twenty-four beers (a "two-four"), a drink popular during the long weekend.
It officially commemorates the birthday of Queen Victoria (May 24, 1819), though the Canadian government has proclaimed it as the official birthday celebration for all subsequent reigning monarchs.
It also marks the unofficial start of the Canadian summer, wrt cottage season, and camping season.

Believe it or not, this year's May Two-Four falls on tomorrow, May 18, the farthest Monday preceding May 25th.
Never been a fan of monarchy, too hierarchical for me (guess I wouldn't survive in the army 
). But recent fact-based humorous words from King Charles, when he poked fun during his speech at the White House state dinner on April 28th, made people, including me, smile: “You recently commented, Mr. President, that if it were not for the United States, European countries would be speaking German. Dare I say that, if it wasn't for us, you'd be speaking French".
With knowledge of only a few Francais and Deutsch, I'll be happy and content to enjoy May Two-Four Victoria Day in Victoria.
