APAD: Rain does not fall on one roof alone

"Rain does not fall on one roof alone". – African proverb

Rain does not fall on one roof alone which is a metaphor to demonstrate that when you think that you have the worst life among all, you need to understand that the troubles are not just confined to your life alone.

You must have the ability to realize that you should always try to find joy in every little thing you see around yourself and all that you do on a day to day basis. It might be easier said than done, but the moment you actually decide to do it, the best it will be for you. You will have to embrace your life as it is. You must try to focus on things a little more this time, and you need to find happiness amidst all that you already own instead of stressing yourself about all that you don’t have .

Per Wikipedia, we (Victoria BC, Canada) either has a warm-summer Mediterranean or oceanic climate with fresh, dry, sunny summers, and cool, cloudy, rainy winters.

We are farther north than many "cold-winter" cities, such as Quebec City, and Minneapolis. However, westerly winds and Pacific Ocean currents keep our winter temperatures substantially higher, with an average January temperature of 5.8 °C (42.4 °F) near where we live compared to Ottawa, the nation's capital, with −10.0 °C (14.0 °F).

But there is a problem: rain & rain & rain!  We had rain almost everyday this past week, which made outdoor activities a precious gift, and sunshine a rare seen old friend.  But per our city tourist website (https://visitorinvictoria.ca/weather-in-victoria/#): Victoria averages 308 days with some bright sunshine per year making it the 6th sunniest city in Canada. That’s 5 times more sunny days than Seattle, and Victoria receives only half of the rainfall of Vancouver. 什麽

So I should be content and stay positive, and think about the coming flowering spring and sunny summer.

Actually the camelia in our next door neighbour's front yard has already started to welcome the spring of 2025 (see pic I took week before the last). 鬼臉

Wish you all a warm and good Saturday!
