APAD: "Books are freedom"

本帖於 2024-10-21 07:46:38 時間, 由普通用戶 最西邊的島上 編輯

The idea that books are a form of freedom is based on the idea that the freedom to read is a fundamental right that should be protected, and that books are a vital means of sharing ideas and information.

When wandering around the streets in Japantown SF yesterday, a window display at "Forest Books", a store specialized in used and rare books, attracted my attention.  I found the statement very interesting and telling, so want to share it as today's APAD with you.

Yes, the store owner might be a bit biased towards real books, and yes, we can read books online nowadays. But he reasoned the reason well and I appreciate and respect his passion.

Below are the pictures -- I changed the colour of the statement to make it more readable.

Thank for reading and wish you all a good Monday.
