APAD：An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind

The quote "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" is saying that if we keep punishing those we deem cruel in the same cruel fashion, then we're no better than the bad guys ourselves. It's the whole "you can't solve violence with violence" spiel.

This piece of wisdom is commonly attributed to the Indian independence movement leader M.K. Gandhi, and it seems to succinctly summarize his pacifist views, but no one has ever been able to provide evidence that he said it. The quote actully references a line from Exodus in the Bible’s Old Testament: “Eye for eye, tooth for tooth.”

I'm totally in agreement with the quote, as it is my firm belief as well.  I want peace, not war, and  "Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.” - Albert Einstein

It sounds simple (or not ;-) but "sometimes simple things are the most difficult things to archive", especially when peace is involved.   Sigh ...
