I transformed my essay below, which I wrote and said in my video, into a poem.
I recently noticed that my budgies enjoy playing in smaller cages. They spend most of their day in these smaller spaces. It reminded me that humans sometimes tire of living in large houses and opt for smaller ones as a novelty. There are various reasons for downsizing, such as having a small family, children moving out, becoming empty nesters, financial difficulties, etc. However, my budgies' desires are simple. They want a change of scenery to make their lives more exciting and colorful. Therefore, humans should also be like this: not stick to the rules but dare to explore and learn new things.
In a smaller cage, my budgies find new joy,
It's where they play and never get bored.
Humans, too, seek snug homes, feeling right,
And yearning for a place to rest and sleep tight.
From big houses to small, cozy ones,
People know why they downsize their spaces.
Kids move out, empty nests embrace, and more,
Their needs change, finding joy in smaller areas.
Yet my budgies' wishes are simple,
A change of scene to bring them cheer.
They long for happiness and honesty,
Follow their heart, year after year.
Life is more prosperous when we explore,
New colors, new joys, we'll uncover more.
Like my budgies, let's keep on learning,
For adventure's call, for dreams returning.
