【美壇綜藝秀假日篇】五古小詩《冬至》及油彩速寫一幅

 

 

寒隨日低近

思與落影長

方哀昏無盡

明起漸積陽

 

 

   - Winter Solstice -

The lowering sun brings the chill closer

My thoughts and ground shadows grow longer

This infinite darkness one need not mourn

Light is about to pile up dawn by dawn

 

 

Below is an oil sketch done last year in the same season to capture its light. The piece is small (about the size of a book cover) and done with a handheld paint box. The method is derived from that of the Spanish artist Joaquin Sorolla (1863-1923) whose similar works I admire greatly.
