One of Time's 100 influential people, Deepak Chopra, MD-PhD, advocated for the return to a childlike approach in life. In line with his perspective, here are some examples that highlight the innocence of children:

1.Pure Trust: Children often trust others without suspicion or prejudice. This innocence stems from their pure belief in the inherent goodness of people.

2.Unconditional Love: Children display love without conditions or expectations. Their affectionate nature is a reflection of their innocence and purity of heart.

3.Playfulness: Children find joy in the simplest of things, cherishing moments of play and laughter. Their carefree spirit embodies the essence of innocence, devoid of the burdens that come with adulthood.

4.Honesty: Children tend to speak their minds without filters or ulterior motives. Their straightforwardness and sincerity underline the innocence with which they approach communication.

5.Curiosity and Wonder: Children are naturally curious about the world, constantly questioning and seeking to understand the unknown. Their innocent wonder fuels their desire to learn and explore.

Older individuals can benefit from embracing childlike qualities for the sake of their health:

a) Stress Reduction: Emulating a child's carefree attitude can alleviate stress and promote mental well-being, fostering a more positive outlook on life.

b) Enhanced Creativity: Nurturing a childlike sense of curiosity can stimulate creativity and innovation, fostering a more imaginative and open-minded approach to problem-solving.

c) Improved Social Connections: Embracing the innocence of children can help older individuals form deeper and more meaningful connections, enhancing their social support network and overall sense of belonging.

d) Mindfulness and Living in the Present: Adopting a child's ability to live in the moment can cultivate mindfulness, encouraging older individuals to appreciate the beauty of the present and find joy in everyday experiences.

e) Physical Health Benefits: Engaging in playful activities and maintaining an active lifestyle akin to that of a child can promote physical health, including improved mobility, agility, and overall vitality.

By integrating these childlike qualities into their lives, older individuals can foster a sense of vitality and joy, ultimately contributing to their overall well-being and quality of life.

** Background:

Deepak Chopra is an Indian-American author and alternative medicine advocate. A prominent figure in the New Age movement, his books and videos have made him one of the best-known and wealthiest figures in alternative medicine.

As a licensed physician, in 1980 he became chief of staff at the New England Memorial Hospital (NEMH).[11]

Chopra claims that a person may attain "perfect health", a condition "that is free from disease, that never feels pain", and "that cannot age or die".[15][16] Seeing the human body as undergirded by a "quantum mechanical body" composed not of matter but energy and information, he believes that "human aging is fluid and changeable; it can speed up, slow down, stop for a time, and even reverse itself", as determined by one's state of mind.[15][17] He claims that his practices can also treat chronic disease.[18][19]

The ideas Chopra promotes have regularly been criticized by medical and scientific professionals as pseudoscience.[20][21][22][23] The criticism has been described as ranging "from the dismissive to...damning".[20] Philosopher Robert Carroll writes that Chopra, to justify his teachings, attempts to integrate Ayurveda with quantum mechanics.[24] Chopra says that what he calls "quantum healing" cures any manner of ailments, including cancer, through effects that he claims are literally based on the same principles as quantum mechanics.[19] This has led physicists to object to his use of the term "quantum" in reference to medical conditions and the human body.[19] Evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins has said that Chopra uses "quantum jargon as plausible-sounding hocus pocus".[25] Chopra's treatments generally elicit nothing but a placebo response,[7] and they have drawn criticism that the unwarranted claims made for them may raise "false hope" and lure sick people away from legitimate medical treatments.[20]

** In philosophy, Occam's razor is the problem-solving principle that recommends searching for explanations constructed with the smallest possible set of elements. It is also known as the principle of parsimony or the law of parsimony. Attributed to William of Ockham, a 14th-century English philosopher. Yoga[edit]

In April 2010, Aseem Shukla, co-founder of the Hindu American Foundation, criticized Chopra for suggesting that yoga did not have its origins in Hinduism but in an older Indian spiritual tradition.[143] Chopra later said that yoga was rooted in "consciousness alone" expounded by Vedic rishis long before historic Hinduism ever arose. He said that Shukla had a "fundamentalist agenda". Shukla responded by saying Chopra was an exponent of the art of "How to Deconstruct, Repackage and Sell Hindu Philosophy Without Calling it Hindu!", and he said Chopra's mentioning of fundamentalism was an attempt to divert the debate.[143][144]  [瑜伽

The origins of yoga are ancient and complex, making it challenging to attribute its invention to a single individual. The practice of yoga dates back thousands of years, with its roots embedded in ancient Indian philosophy and spirituality. While it's difficult to pinpoint a single inventor, the development of yoga is traditionally attributed to the Indus-Sarasvati civilization in Northern India over 5,000 years ago. The practice has evolved over the centuries, with various schools of yoga emerging, each emphasizing different aspects of the discipline, such as physical postures, breathing techniques, meditation, and ethical principles. Approach to health care [edit]

Chopra argues that everything that happens in the mind and brain is physically represented elsewhere in the body, with mental states (thoughts, feelings, perceptions, and memories) directly influencing physiology through neurotransmitters such as dopamineoxytocin, and serotonin. He has stated, "Your mind, your body and your consciousness – which is your spirit – and your social interactions, your personal relationships, your environment, how you deal with the environment, and your biology are all inextricably woven into a single process ... By influencing one, you influence everything."[95]
