APAD: It takes a thief to catch a thief.

 

The best person to recognize a thief is another thief, presumably because they

share the same way of thinking.

Mr. Kevin Mitnick, often dubbed the top hacker of his day, recently passed

away. If he was regarded as a thief, it was in the best sense of that word. Out

of jail, Mr. Mitnick authored books and taught computer security. I personally

took his online course KnowBe4 twice, mandatory at my employer. It was mainly

social engineering, having more to do with culture than tech, but vital

nonetheless, as we sped up outsourcing living to machines.
