My goals for 2023:
1. Re-read Jane Eyre
The first time I read Jane Eyre was at my university study period, before passing College English Test of Grade 6. There is grade 8 test, but only is required for Students with Major in English . There may be some friends here had passed grade 8 test. For me, I am not dare enough to challenge it.
The impression I got when I first read Jane Eyre was: sentences were too long or too short with too many commas; too many unknown words to check in dictionary; sentences structure was hard to be recognized; and WTF was talking about. I can not remember if I did finish it or not, but I probably did.
Many years later, we ordered a set of books for my son. Among the literature collection, I found several world famous literatures were included, and Jane Eyre was one of them. I thought I may willing to re-read these books some time in the future.
After several years without writing papers I found my written English getting worse, especially when some ideas were in my brain but I could not turn them into words. Three months ago, I started reading Jane Eyre and I am at chapter 6 now. I hope I could finish it by the end of this year, and do wish my writing skill could somehow be restored.
2 . finish renovating my house: change the floor and redo kitchen. It is too old.
3. finish my Ped. training and practice Ped.
4. buy a lot.
5. Would like to convert an RV if a suitable vehicle becomes available.
6. spend the coming Christmas in Hawaii
7. visit China this year
Above seems too much for 2023, but I hope I could finish at least half or a bit more than half of them.
