A recent day at LA airport, the main character Mr. G was on a business trip. He sat on shuttle bus to his terminal with a crowd of others. Not far from him, there were a father and son, who’s about 7-8 years old. By their body language, he could tell they were very close to each other. In their seat, the son held on tight to his father with one arm while holding a football with another.
When the bus reached their terminal, the father and son grabbed their luggages and left for their check-in hall. Mr. G saw them disappeared into the crowd, then his sideview glimpsed the football sitting in the seat where the father and son just left. Without a single second of hesitation, he jumped up to grab the football and called the bus driver for stop. He apologized and briefly explained what just happened. The door opened and he quickly went to find the father and son. It didn’t take long to see them, as the father was trying to comfort his boy who looked so down with tears on his face. Mr. G quickly went over and presented the lost football. You can expect how thrilled the boy was when found his ball returned. With a big smile on his face, he gave the biggest hug Mr. G had ever received from anyone. The father gave his bearhug too and with sincere gratitude said to Mr. G, “Thank you! Trust me, my son will never forget this moment in his life.”
After mission achieved, Mr. G went back out to catch the next bus to his terminal and was happily surprised to see the same one was still there waiting for him. He got back on and told people the happy ending. The crowd bursted out in cheers, and the bus started to move again.
