Recalling the stories of my childhood, I found the most impressive thing is watching outdoor movies.
I remember that before I went to the middle school, during the summer breaks, there was a person in my village who was specifically responsible for playing outdoor movies. Every time he first went to the town to pick up the film, and then erected 2 big Wooden pillars on the primary school playground, and raised a large screen at both ends of the pillars. And at about ten meters away from the center of the screen, he set up a movie projector. When it got dark, almost all the villagers rushed there. The master who played the movie then inserted the film into the player and started playing the movie.
At that time, we, including me, were the elementary school students. When we heard that there was a movie to watch that night, we were very excited and couldn’t wait to watch it. We would move benches from home to the playground early enough to occupy a good spot for watching the movie, not too far nor too close. Sometimes, among us, the children, we were making noise or arguing about the seats, but, it was really fun just for it!
On the day there was a movie, the dinner was finished early, and the family went to the playground to wait for the movie to be played. My lovely mother always told me that if I had homework to finish, I should finish it before going to watch it. Not every time I listened to her, but I did finish my homework before going to the movie. Sometimes I finished my homework early during the day. I only remember one time when I was still doing my homework, I heard that the movie had already started over there, because my home was not far from elementary school, which made me very anxious, I didn’t want to miss the movie.
I don't remember most of the movies I watched. At first it seemed to be mostly black-and-white films. Later on, there were some color movies. I only remembered a few movies such as [Uproar in Heaven]大鬧天宮, [Red Army Bridge](紅軍橋), [Nezha Conquers the Dragon King](哪吒鬧海), [A River of Spring Water Flowing Eastward](一江春水向東流) etc. For the last one, [A River of Spring Water Flowing Eastward], I was deeply impressed by it because it looked like the characters in the movie were always crying or making the audience cry.
Now, I will sing a song, [Spring flower and Autumn Moon]春花秋月(虞美人). There is this sentence in this song: Just like a River of spring water flowing eastward. Without a doubt, the name of the movie mentioned above was coming from this poem called Yu Beauty.
