1. to put someone on a blacklist; to blacklist/blackball someone

2. to treat someone with disfavor

3. to retaliate against someone

4. to discriminate against someone

All said and done, many an expression taken for granted in one language often does not lend itself to a ready rendition in another.  Hence, this standing advice to second language learners: Get into the habit of thinking in the second language you are learning (however difficult or awkward it may seem at first), and by and by you will have a much easier time expressing yourself in all kinds of situations.
