Drafting For Next Assignment

Two assignments came back. The teacher liked the one I was less sure of . Unexpected. 

This week’s assignment is to write a prose poem, "poetry written in prose,” that is characterized by heightened imaginary, emotional effect, fragmentation, compression, repetition, surprise. No more than 80 words.

Waiting (Mar. 2)

The most cruel and inevitable status of human life, that inspired Samuel Beckett

The action of sucking into the nipples of life when no milk is tasted of

Stranded at a deserted station when no train is scheduled to come

Caught in a winter storm, immersed in the night of darkness, soaked in cold when no help is available

Hearing a woman's cry in the far distance, smelling the burnt flesh of youth for the altar of love
