There is still hope even if you came here at older age.

I came here for grad school and indeed I envy my Indian coworkers' English a lot. I think I have become bilingual  and can use both Chinese and English interchangeably.  One resource I enlist for help is my children, who are native English speakers. By practicing with them, I have been making steady progress over the years. My English is no good by any means, but it is good enough for me discuss any subject at will.

I am not good at learning language at all. If I can do it, I think anyone can do It.
