老友記第二問

1）MONICA和WINE GUY “PAUL”約會，PAUL 進來時，CHANDLER： I ‘m sorry, I didn't catch your name, Paul, was it?------我想著，應該問，is it?  為啥問 "was it“ ？這裏麵是否含有諷刺取笑PAUL的意思？

2）CHANDLER , JOEY 幫ROSS裝家具，ROSS: I’m supposed to attach a brackety thing to the side things, using a bunch of these little worm guys. i have no brackety thing, I see no whim guys.....其中的”worm guys" "whim guys" 是指什麽家具配件？螺絲等等？.......
CHANDLER: look,ross, you gotta understand, between us we haven't had a relationship that has lasted longer than a Mento. you, however, have had the love of a woman for four years. four years of closeness and sharing at the end of which she ripped your heart out, and that is why we don't do it! I don't think that was my point!------這其中“mento" 是咋意思？ 還有後麵的”that's why we don't do it!,  跟前麵CHANDLER表達的意思如何連在一起？ 為咋說你和女朋友相處四年，最後她拿走你的東西，傷了你的心，又來一句"that's why we don't do it,? 是不是說我們不會像你那樣傻，跟同一個女人談四年戀愛？

順便說兩句，謝謝前麵朋友對第一個問題的指教！實際上我還不是很懂CHANDLER說的那段帶有COLOUR的話，“I look down, and realize there is a phone......"  我懂這段話的”物理“含義，我要問的是，他把”那“比喻成”PHONE"，又轉到接到媽媽的電話，有點理解不透“笑”的含義。還有，前麵他們剛剛在說MONICA約會的朋友“not even a date"，後來就轉到這段帶顏色的話，之間有何關聯？
