Let me be frank: I don't think you get it. It is a cool expression, but what I have written n'est pas la vie, c'est ma vie! It is not self-pity; It is a very personal account of my first exposure to life's tragedy. It doesn't happen to everyone to lose a parent at a very young age and I sure don't wish it upon anyone else. Considering it is just the way life is and telling me that's how it's supposed to be, is almost offensive. It only tells me how far apart we stand on this issue.
To make a joke out of it, I can only say: I forgive your French.
