I like you review, which makes me rethink about this book.
I only read the first book of the trilogy. I admit it is a fun and interesting read. The book is an eye-opener and worth reading, because it is one of a kind, and it explores male-female relationship from a different angle and different perspective.
But overall, I think “Fifty”” is a fantasy book. The male character is a perfect human specimen. He is only 27-year-old, but he has it all – look, wealth, status et al., and every girl on the earth would fall in love with him – it is kind of Cinderella story.
It don’t think it is a literary masterpiece, and definitely not comparable to Jane Eyre. Some vocabulary words are overused, and many scenes and descriptions are repetitive. Compared to other erotic books (such as Lady Chatterley’s Lover), this book appears shallow and superficial.
