Beijing relaxed currency policy in order to trigger growth, as last Monday's disappointing data had showed the world's second largest economy was continuing to slow down.
"currency policy" is quite different from "monetary policy". "Currency policy" mostly referes to the policy on currency exchange, where as "monetary policy" refers to a policy on the money supply, e.g, interest rates, bank lending requirements, etc., the amount of money available for domestic lending, mostly.
"trigger" is not appropriate here. "Trigger" means to start up something from an idle state. For example, to trigger to fire a gun. Apparently the economy was developing, it was just not as fast as expected, so "stimulate" or "promote" are better choices here.
"had showed" should be "had shown" in spelling. But a bigger problem is the usage here. The past complete tense cannot be used here because "show" was a one time event, it's not something that lasted for a period of time before. So "showed" should be used here
