bell and clock （random thoughts）

 

英文中 bell 與 clock 是兩碼事。一個是鈴聲，一個是 telling time，分開使用。

中文的鍾 既可以是 bell， 也可以是 clock。相關的原因大概是以前靠打鈴告訴時間吧。

 

Liverty Bell -- 自由鍾 in  Independence Hall , 也有人稱為獨立鍾。

我們現在使用漢語時見到  “鍾“ 字和聽到 ”鍾聲“ 時會想到的是 clock 還是 bell 呢？
