Glad to hear that. If I can inspire any one to run then I did not waist my time writing this article. I was in fact inspired by others when I got into this running business.
When I started running, my goal was exatly the same as yours: being able to run a 5K in one year. I ended up being able to run a HM just half an year later. I believe that our human body has a lot of potential, which is up to us to develop and use.
If I could give any advice, I would suggest to start slowly at the begining. Add the distance gradually and you will find running is much easier than you think. Reading some books on running should help also. I checked quite a few books from our local library years ago. Although I did not finish reading all the books I learned a lot about running from them.
