Beijing was my second hometown, and I spent 7 years there for my undergraduate and graduate studies. I went back last year for a college reunion. I was totally lost, and Beijing was not what I remembered. I felt that I was a stranger in a strange land. Like Wenqing MM, I asked myself many times. Where is my home? I uprooted myself from my native land, and have not found new soil to put my root down yet.
Anyway, change is inevitable, and the only thing that does not change is “change”. But I hope Beijing will change for the better.
