The Feeling of Being Lost
:::: ZuoZhou, 2011
Do you remember the good
Old days before computer,
Cell phones, GPS, etc.?
The days when there were
Fewer cars on the road, less
Noise in your head?
And how easily we got lost!
Makeshift signs written
In cumbersome strokes;
Small rock piles indicating
A secret trail . . . .
We were buried in trees,
Grass, songs of insects
And birds . . . .
We were driving in circles
Looking for a destination
On the map, but in nature
There were no straight lines,
No names in the sky.
We were worried that
We got lost. We were tight
On time, fuel, money . . . .
But we weren't aware of the fact
That we were driving
In circles in the middle
Of Paradise.
