16 Animal and machine

The body of an animal may well be compared with some machines like a locamotive engine.
Indeed the animal body is a machine.  It's a machine composed of many parts.
Each part doing some particular kind of work for which particular kind of structure fits it,
and all the parts are dependent on each other and work together for the complishment of total business of the machine.
The locamotive must be provided with fuels such as coal,  or wood, or other combustible substance, the consumption of which furnish the force or energy of the machine.
The animal body must be provided with fuels which we call foods which furnish similarly the energy of animal.
Oxygen must be provided for the combustion of the fuels in the locamotive and the foods in the body.
The locamotive is components of special parts: the fire box for the reception and combustion of fuels, the steam pipe for the carriage of steam, the wheels for locamotion, the smoke stack for throwing out waste.  The animal body is similarly composed of parts: the elementary canal for the reception and simulation of foods, the discreting organs for throwing out  waste matter, that  artery and vein for the carriage of oxygen and food holding blood , the legs or wings for locamotion.
