I was totally shocked by the entire story and the graphic details. She was seriously injured already when captured. It was incredible. She even managed to convince a guard to help her escape, but the wound on the leg caused her being recaptured. It's something unforgettable once you read it.
The narrator was sincerely recalling the facts but it made you feel terrible. It's like, why would anyone do that to a very sick woman?
