Your example belongs to historical and classic black lawsuit. No any other groups of minorities have such "privilege".

As for the case in this posting, it has no legal base as well.

S/he cannot claim "DISCRIMINATION" when s/he is treated as same as his/her classmates.

S/he cannot ask for compensation when she never feels ill except uncomfortable as s/he stated in his/her complaining letter.

This case is a mistake at most. But School already corrected its mistake by increasing scores on each of the classmembers. What else does s/he want?
School committee gave her/him the final notice that this case was over and the decision was final.

I do not understand why s/he wants to go out of school to seek legal help. What is illegal here?
