To err is human, to forgive is divine

Looks like you have to think with another perspective:

What about the owner still refuse you to enter his store? As suggested by others, he can do that without any evidence and pls remember that the police agree with him. His willingness to cooperate speaks a lot about the person. He takes a lot of trouble to listen to you and made a good offer to patch up with you. Do you think he is a bad person?

When someone shows good heart to you, you still let your grudge get hold of you and not reciprocate, that's a disservice to the society. Be a good person and develop the capability to forgive. You know, only people with large hearts have such capabilities. When someone shows you a large heart, you got to show a bigger one.

You think you’ve shown some moral principles because you refused some monetary benefits. That’s naïve because you have to sacrifice some other moral principles.

When you are accusing other people of not being nice, why don’t you try to be one in the first place?
