1. first hearing is called arraingment, it means you are informed of your charges, enter a plea.
If you plea guilty, a sentence is given out.
If you plea not guilty, a trial date is set for the future.
So talk to the DA before the arraignment, to see if you can plea down to speeding.
If you can't find DA, or DA doesn't agree to plea down, then plea not guilty, find a lawyer for trial.
If you can reach a plea agreement with DA, then plea guilty to speeding (20 miles or less over limit) and pay fine. Make sure you don't plea guilty to reckless driving charge.
2. trial.
If you enter not guilty, the judge will set a trial date. Find a lawyer etc.
Your charts and driving records are not for arraingment but for trial.
