If you don't know what you are doing, it's advisable you go to court beforehand to learn the lay of the land. Start with the helpdesk, or the clerk of the court window.
For example, maybe you can find and talk to the DA on a day before your court date, after his morning session is over. It would be quite hectic to wait until that morning of your court date before court since there would be several people wanted to talk.
