謝謝，長知識了。我的buying agent同時也是我的PM沒有告訴我新租約應該在房子過戶前就簽好。

Google "backdating lease", 學習小結是it is not illegal, but not a good practice.

再問一下： 如果我不要求對方backdate， 就用現在的日期9／22／2014簽一個lease with ending date 8/31/2014，那麽這樣簽出來的文件有法律效應嗎？或者有什麽相關的term可以用來google.
