I agree all you said. But the whole story as I described in my original question: The Insurance did not estimate enough area for the roof at beginning. So A helped me to reclaim and corrected it. The estimate covers everything damaged. A and I claimed separately all jobs finished while just roofed. Both of them knew about it. This was the point to against the insurance law.
I was the one who received the checks. There are still unfinished stuff may not necessary to fix as for safety living. Of course the house condition and value decreased. (This house has already been paid off in 2010.)
Hopefully It did not directly relate with their the issue. But they can use it to make trouble on me if they file another case.
