The court certified final diposition of your case should be the only thing Immigration Officer needs. Of course, it is better to get a police report just in case. You may need to tell the story to the officer. You may be able to get everything by phone call without going there yourself.

Your immigration lawyer seems not knowledgeable about handling the case with such history. You should do some homework on oit. BTW, what's the maximum prison time for the conviction?
