I am not really surprised that Alphago beat human players.

When I heard how go was too complex for the computer, I was skeptical. But I don't play go, perhaps I didn't realize its complexity.

A game of go is problem solving with a specified goal and given rules. I even think someday the "electric brain" can independently discover the general theory of relativity by trying different models.
