When you call, they will ask you to send an email to them with your name, address, DOB and ssn. You will expect at least two months to get any response.
The best way for you is to file a FOIA request. You can find the instruction at "http://foia.fbi.gov". Fill the form and fax it. You will get a FOIA response within 2 weeks. If you have a "no record" response, you should not worry too much because your name has not been in the FBI's main database.
