It seems that NIW at Vermont are getting worse and worse.
In order to reduce backlog, Vermont don't give RFE anymore
and many qualified person are denied immediately.
At immigration.com, a person got 4 papers and 2 NASA
references get rejected without RFE only because she
dose not have too many citations. And more importantly,
the rejection letter says 'A project that has national
interest does not necessarily ensure that the person
in the position eligible for NIW......'????
My lawyer tells me that for the whole year of 2004,
he only got one NIW case denied, but for the Jan.
and Feb. of 2005, he already got 4 cases denied. The
reasons are almost the same, (1) not too many citations,
(2) references by the people who knows the applicant
(3) not many publications so the work does not have
influence on the field.
I know a lot NIW applicants only have about 2-3
papers and do have too many citations (I am one of them).
Now it seems they all likely will get rejected
directly without RFE. This is terrible.
Before, Vermont is quite nice to NIW applicants,
but now, it is becoming the worst.
